Youthworks’ Leaders in Training (LiT) is a wonderful camp for youth in Years 9 - 12 at Youthworks Conference Centres Port Hacking. Youth meet fantastic friends and have a brilliant time but also are challenged to think abouth their faith and how they can use your gifts for the glory of God.

It's held from 30 September - 4 October. The whole week is about growing young people as Christians, leaders and servants of Jesus and his people.

Last year, three of our youth went to Leaders in Training. They came back with an incredible hunger to grow in their abilities to lead others, handle the Bible, and teach God's word to others.

It's from this that we were able to launch a senior youth Bible study in Term 4 last year which has met every Friday night during school terms. Each week, this group has anywhere from four to twelve senior youth joining to study God's word more deeply, as well as even getting opportunities to lead the study itself each week.

From this group, God is already generating young people who will lead others for years to come.

It's for these reasons that I’m super excited to share with you the details for the upcoming Leaders in Training (LiT) camp these school holidays.

Camp Details:
    •    Dates: 1:00 PM, Monday 30 September 2024 to 2:00 PM, Friday 4 October 2024 (1st week of school holidays)
    •    Location: Youthworks Conference Centres Port Hacking (1 Rathane Telford Rd, Royal National Park NSW 2232)
    •    Cost: $250 (discounted from $499)

We understand that the proximity of LiT to our Youth Camp may pose a financial challenge. That’s why St. John’s has allocated a significant portion of its youth budget to provide a $150 discount for each youth. Additionally, I’ve secured a scholarship for South Sydney churches, adding another $100 discount. This brings the total cost down to $250 per youth.

We truly do believe that God uses this camp to ignite the faith of our senior youth in ways far beyond what we can imagine, so we want to show that by backing it with our finances.

To make use of this discount, please use the code MaroubraLiTSpr5050 during the registration process on the Youthworks website (https://www.youthworks.net/lit).

Registration:

Youth are required to purchase tickets directly from the Youthworks website (https://www.youthworks.net/lit) for ease of registration.

Additionally, please register on our church website to help us keep track of who is attending. On our site, you can indicate whether you will:

    •    Drop your child off
    •    Pick your child up
    •    Assist with transport to the camp
    •    Assist with transport back from the camp

This will help us coordinate any group transport if needed.

Camp Experience:

    •    Free Time and Gatherings: Youth will have plenty of opportunities to spend time with friends, even those in different stages. Free time is scheduled each day from 2:15 PM to 5:30 PM, and all stages come together for The Gathering from 7:45 PM to 9:30 PM each evening.
    •    Room Allocations: Rooms are assigned by Youthworks based on gender and stage. Youth will have the chance to choose their room groups after some initial bonding activities.
    •    Year 12 Study Space: For Year 12 students, a quiet study space will be available during the afternoons on Days 2 to 4. If your child would like to use this space, please indicate this during registration on the Youthworks LiT website.
    •    Packing List: A packing list will be provided by Youthworks closer to the camp date.

Stage Information:

    •    Stage 1: All first-time attendees in Years 9 or 10 must start in Stage 1, regardless of previous leadership experience. This ensures they get the most out of the program, which builds progressively each year.
    •    Stage 2: Year 11 and 12 students should book a Stage 2 ticket unless they have already completed Stage 2.
    •    Stage 3: Only those who have completed Stage 2 are eligible to book a Stage 3 ticket.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact myself or Youthworks Ministry Support at ministrysupport@youthworks.net or call 02 8268 3355.

Thank you for your support in preparing your youth for this amazing experience. I can't wait to see how God will work in their lives through this camp.

Kind regards,
